Handmade Disclaimer:
Our Plugs are handmade in studio by our team, occasionally, minor drips, marks, bubbles, or slight image staining on full circle images (up to approximately 1mm on borderless designs) may occur. Every pair is inspected and photographed before shipping for quality assurance. If you experience any issues with your order, please contact us, we're happy to help.

Noteworthy Information:
• Glow In the Dark Plugs require 30-60 minutes of charging under direct light for best results. Colours during daylight hours will differ from the vibrancy at night, Green glow appears an off-white until dark. It is important to note, the images on your custom glow plugs will not glow.
• All Plug sizes 51mm and above have a deeper dish double flare, approximately 3mm-4mm for a secure fit to stop them falling out. We recommend these sizes for healthy, healed lobes and lubrication is strongly encouraged for insertion and removal.

Care Information:
Custom plugs should only be worn in healed ears with non-sensitive skin types. Acrylic materials we use to create your plugs can deteriorate over time, without proper care such as exposure to moisture or the elements. For the best ear health and plug longevity, we recommend alternating with your choice of organic plugs and following the care instructions included with every order.

• Please note prior to purchase, once a custom design has been approved and purchased, Plug production begins. Changes or cancellations cannot be offered.
• Once your parcel is marked as delivered, our insurance coverage ends and any further issues must be addressed with the postal service. For added security we recommend following your tracking to monitor your delivery date and status.

Sizing details

Here at Melbourne Plugs Co, our plugs are double-flared with 1.5–1.8 mm flaring. If your plugs don’t fit, do not force them. We recommend patience, regular earlobe massage, and wearing slightly heavier organic plugs- such as steel, stone, or glass—to gradually increase elasticity. It’s important to know your correct size in millimetres before purchasing. You can refer to our handy size conversion sheet in the custom plugs listing images. If your plugs do not fit due to selecting the wrong size, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund, as each order is custom-made and cannot be resold. As each pair is handmade using silicone moulding and sanding techniques, sizes may vary by up to 1 mm. Please keep this in mind when placing your order.

Care instructions

We send out our specialised MPC Plug Care & Information Sheets with every single order. It is important to read and become familiar with both your plug and lobe care alike. Please note; Acrylic plugs will naturally wear down over time - this is unavoidable - but proper care can help extend their lifespan. Repeated exposure to water and elements accelerates the breakdown of the materials, so handling them carefully is essential. We strongly recommend switching to organic plugs overnight and removing your acrylic plugs before swimming, showering, or sweaty activities. Please note that we do not replace plugs that become worn or damaged.
Standard Lifespan with good care can be 6-8 months.

What are the plugs made of?

Our Custom and MPC Specialty plugs are made from acrylic resins. Acrylics work well for most skin types, but we recommend wearing them only in fully healed piercings to avoid any potential irritation. We strongly encourage switching between your acrylic plugs and organics like steel, glass, or stone to keep your lobes healthy & get the longest lifespan from your Acrylic Plugs. We’re proud to offer a growing range of stainless steel and stone plugs for anyone with sensitive skin who can’t wear acrylic. You can seek specific material information on each Listing or reach out to our team for advice if you have any concerns prior to purchasing.

Earlobe Health

Acrylic plugs are only recommended for fully healed piercings. For sensitive skin types, We recommend sticking with organics such as Steel, Stone or Glass.

• Remove your plugs before showering.
• Clean your plugs with a cloth or an alcohol wipe and place them on a sterile surface.
• Wash your earlobes with a gentle, fragrance-free soap.
• Dry and massage your lobes for 5–10 minutes using your favourite natural oil or moisturiser.
• Re-insert your plugs carefully once everything is clean and dry.
• If irritation occurs, switch to organic plugs and give your ears a break, downsize if necessary.
• Alternating acrylic and organic plugs can help maintain healthy, happy earlobes.

USA Tariffs

To keep things simple and fair for our US customers, we've added a small $5 AUD fee to USA shipping while continuing to absorb the majority of tariff-related costs ourselves. All parcels are sent with registered tracking and insurance, helping to avoid unexpected fees when your order arrives. If you experience any delivery issues, please contact your local USPS with your tracking information. While we cannot be held responsible for parcels marked as delivered or attempted/failed deliveries, our team is always happy to assist with requesting an investigation where possible.
